Le Chat Overgnat describes the services offered by LCO-France. Based in St Alyre, in the Livradois-Forez nature park, Auvergne, we offer hospitality (chambres d hotes), meals (table d hote), internet access, cybercafe (coffee, tea and snacks), and computer education courses. Our IT services are based on the usage of GNU/Linux.

Intermediate Courses


extend your knowledge base

LCO runs three intermediate workshops. The first is an all purpose web design course shows how to use Apache webserver, File Transfers, HTML editors and Graphics Tools used in the process of creation of websites.

The second covers the server administration and networking basics necessary to install and operate a webserver machine including the setup for use php web scripting and a MySQL database in conjunction with the Apache webserver to create dynamic interactive website applications.

The third is for those who may be experiencing difficulties using the X-Windows multimedia facilities either at home or for business and professional use and wish to learn more.

Prerequisites:
For workshops classed as "Intermediate", in order for participants to gain the maximum benefit, it is recommended that those wishing to participate should have some familiarity with the operation of GNU/Linux server, and have minimally configured such a system

All intermediate courses are for one week duration.
